UGREEN Nexode 65W USB C Charger Review

We have a whole host of Ugreen cables and adapters around the office. They are a brand that makes high-quality accessories at reasonable prices and Amazon has made their products easily accessible.

Ugreen has recently launched their new Nexode 65W charger and reached out to us to see if we would like to try it out.

What’s in the Box

The packaging the product comes in is of high quality. Inside you will find the charger, 3 different plug tops which make it ideal for international travelling, along with some paperwork and a handy carrying pouch.

UGREEN Nexode Specs

The device comes with 1 USB A charging port and 2 USB C which collectively can output a combined 65 watts. There is an intelligent power allocation system in place with all 65W being available through a single USB C port or a combination of various outputs across all of the ports, more details of this can be seen in the graphic below.

Thanks to Intelligent Power Distribution tech, the Nexode 65W Charger adjusts power output for extended battery health. In addition, short-circuit protection, overload protection, over-temperature protection, and over-voltage protection are provided for extra security.

The different charging tops can be changed by pressing a button on the top. They lock into place securely and overall, the whole unit feels well-made from durable materials.

Day-to-Day Use

I tried out the charger on a selection of phones, tablets, external battery packs and laptops from the office and had no issues charging any of them quickly.

To test out the power output claims, I connected the charger sequentially to 3 devices with an energy meter in line, and monitored what output was being sent to each device. To within a few watts, the device performed as advertised and adjusted the output accordingly as I connected more devices.

A weakness of many GaN chargers is the heat they can generate and the fact I then don’t feel safe leaving them in use unattended. Thankfully, even under full load the Ugreen Nexode only heated up a little and never to the point of causing any concern.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a charger to throw in your laptop bag or one to bring on your travels, the Ugreen Nexode 65W charger is an easy recommendation. It is well-built, performs as described and is powerful enough to charge multiple devices simultaneously and quickly.

It usually retails for €56 but is already on offer on Amazon.de for €48 at the time of publishing.
