The UnNoticed Entrepreneur – by Jim James, published by Wiley
As a busy small business owner, it can be easy to lose track of important areas of your enterprise. In “The UnNoticed Entrepreneur” author Jim James provides a comprehensive guide that covers a wide range of topics, including branding, website design, content creation, and plenty more, in order to get your business noticed. I learnt about how what I wear is important, how to be seen as an authority in my field, and tips on how to use and expand content and the importance of scheduling it on social media. There is also information on how to create interesting slide shows and how to self-publish a book. Other articles include tips on using LinkedIn videos, what to do if you don’t have time to write, and how to go about monetising public speaking.

One of the things that makes this book stand out is its conversational style. The author presents the information in a friendly and approachable way, using a “they said to me” approach that allows the interviewee’s voice to shine through. This style gives the book a more personal feel, making it easy to relate to the experiences of others and apply their lessons to your own business.
Another benefit of the book is that each article can be read independently. This means you don’t have to read the book cover to cover to get value from it. Instead, you can dip in and out of the articles as needed, depending on the areas of your business you want to focus on. This approach is particularly helpful for busy entrepreneurs who don’t have a lot of time to spare. As a small business owner myself, who spends most of the time either in the field farming, or else designing and crafting, this book is a useful reminder of the other aspects of my business that I have forgotten or neglected. I like that links to all the participants in this book are provided, so all areas mentioned can be followed up on if the reader wishes to do so. I like that the author refers to himself as an UnNoticed Entrepreneur whilst building up what appears to be a successful business, showing that it can be done.
Overall, “The UnNoticed Entrepreneur” is a valuable resource for small or large business owners who want to improve their enterprises visibility. Communicating and networking are key to being seen. Whether you’re a seasoned entrepreneur or just starting out, this book is sure to provide valuable insights and inspiration. This is definitely a book that will be staying on my bookshelf providing me with valuable tips for years to come.
