If you look in the media today there has been a significant focus on women’s health issues, menopause, endometriosis, fertility and female specific cancers. There is now a huge opportunity to develop this space as the hub created a community of enablers which will help identify Ireland as a leading Femtech technology development area in Europe, attracting FDI creating jobs and ultimately impacting the health and wellbeing of women.
Companies already in this area are Atlantic Therapeutics which deals with stress urinary incontinence, IdentifyHer – Perimenopause symptom tracking, Aveta Medical addressing vaginal atrophy to name but a few.
Dr. Tanya Mulcahy, Director of Health Innovation Hub Ireland and Femtech lead and champion. “Developing solutions to address women’s health requires clinicians, researchers, industry and the general population to work together. We invite tech start-ups, industries, investors and anyone interested in driving Femtech to join our network where we can work together in this unique ecosystem.
