Infinix ZERO 5G 2023 reviewed
The Infinix range continues to evolve and grow. The series has a good UX and, if you have used previous ones then there are no jarring changes with this version. If you have never used one before, it is not a huge learning curve either. It handles well, and the protective case helps, it is also a good illustration of why not having a bevelled screen, all the way to the edge is no bad thing. Put simply it makes it less easy to break, which is always desirable, because, no matter how hard we try not to drop these devices it always seems to happen eventually.
The battery live is pretty decent too, you don’t find yourself lurching to almost dead phone as often as some phones tend to. Basically if you have a decent amount of charge in the morning, you should be fine to get through the day. This works for our use case as we tend to be on the go and not necessarily ready, or remembering to charge it during the day time. The camera is good, pretty good, the one area where it feels slightly under powered compared to the truly top of the market devices is in taking stills and video at night.
What could have perhaps been gorgeous photos were rather only pretty good, with a tendency to pixellate if you zoomed in too closely. At the same time you get what you pay for, and in so many ways this is a phone which gives you a great bang for your buck. Several of our testers have continued to use their Infinix’s after the testing period, which is always a good sign that it is a phone they would use themselves out in the wild out of choice. Similar vibes and feedback were expressed towards the Infinix ZERO 5G 2023 too.
One thing on the website, is that, when you try to select a country in which to buy it, Ireland does not come up. It also does not give you the option to put in any Irish cities either as a workaround into the city search box. These are clearly aspects that need to be updated as soon as possible if they wish to sell more devices in this part of the world. That constraint considered, these are good value, robust, easy to use phones.
