Buymie reduces cost of ‘buymie plus’ subscription to reward loyal shoppers

buymie, the big-basket same-day grocery delivery platform, is reducing the price of its ‘buymie plus’ yearly subscription to €79.99, a reduction of €20, to reward the loyalty of its users and offer a helping hand.

buymie recently made the tough decision to increase the delivery fee to €6.99 for its ‘in as little as an hour’ slots due to increased cost but alongside this,  buymie has reduced the cost of the ‘buymie plus’ yearly subscription which entitles members to:

Free delivery on every order

Exclusive discounts and promotions with buymie retail partners including access to the €10 off €50 offer from retail partner Dunnes Stores

Priority access to Christmas slots

Speaking about the reduction, Devan Hughes, CEO & Co-Founder of buymie said:

“Art and I started buymie to simplify getting the weekly shop. We both have families and know times are tough right now. Every day we read about costs going up, so the team put our heads together to come up with ideas to support our loyal customers. We have a few new initiatives launching in the next few weeks to hopefully put a smile on peoples faces and a few extra notes in their pocket.

“This is the first.   We have reduced the cost of plus annual membership by €20. This is the best value it has ever been. Being a plus member means you pay no delivery fees so if you use the service just once a month you recoup your money- after that you are winning and saving every time you shop.”

Hughes added, “We are also delighted to announce that we will be continuing to offer the €10 off €50 promotion with Dunnes Stores exclusively for all ‘buymie plus’ members for the immediate future. Members will receive €10 off their next grocery shop when they spend €50 or more with Dunnes Stores on buymie, add that to the free delivery and plus members could save up to €16.99 on each order.

With the average basket size on the buymie platform being over €60, this is a no-brainer for ‘buymie plus’ members to save on their weekly shop. Even if they are not Dunnes Stores shoppers we also have a great €5 off €60 with  Lidl right now.”

As per standard Irish regulations, alcohol and other products eg baby, do not contribute to the basket valuation for the purpose of promotions.

Initiative two

This month buymie will also launch new ‘eco’ delivery slots, which enable users to schedule a four-hour delivery window for a reduced delivery fee of €5.99 per delivery.  By choosing an eco delivery slot, consumers are reducing their carbon footprint as it enables buymie’s bespoke tech (Jarvis) to bundle even more orders together and accelerate the number of trips saved each year on Irish city roads.

Founded in 2016, buymie is a leading player in the rapidly evolving grocery delivery market. The business has expanded to a team of 70+ with a network of over 400 personal shoppers to meet the increasing demand for grocery home delivery, a trend which has accelerated dramatically during the Covid-19 pandemic.

By using local personal shoppers picking from local stores, the buymie grocery delivery service has been delighting time-poor customers in Ireland and the UK. Customers are able to note specific preferences on their orders and can opt-in for a call from their shopper in-store if items are out of stock. Unlike traditional eCommerce solutions, buymie can deliver on the same day and can fulfil orders in as little as 1-hour.

buymie’s big basket, same-day grocery delivery service is available to over 2 million households across Dublin, Limerick, Cork and Galway and Leeds and Bristol in the UK. The service has now been used by one in eight households across Dublin.

Buymie works closely with official retail partners Dunnes Stores, Lidl, ASDA and The Co-op.

Consumers who are interested in getting their groceries delivered through buymie can download the buymie app for either iOS or Android devices.
