Bitget, a global cryptocurrency exchange, is excited to announce its partnership with Blockchain Ireland as the proud sponsor of their monthly meet-ups throughout 2024. The collaboration kicked off on Thursday, March 29th, at the vibrant 4 Dame Lane in Dublin, aligning with the Association for Women in Cryptocurrency (AWIC) in anticipation of International Women’s Day 2024.

Blockchain Ireland’s Meet-Ups to be sponsored by Bitget

Over 70 attendees, ranging from newcomers seeking to learn, to industry professionals with aspirations to expand their network and even list their projects on Bitget, contributed to an evening of vibrant discussions on market developments, forging new connections, and discovering the exciting work within the local blockchain community.

The event showcased the thriving blockchain ecosystem in Ireland, featuring insights from Blockchain Ireland on developments in their planning for Blockchain Ireland Week 2024, Sorcha Mulligan shedding light on the valuable work of the Association for Women in Cryptocurrency, and Bitget, about its ongoing efforts to support the local Irish Blockchain Community.

With the impending International Women’s Day and Bitget’s recent launch of the Blockchain4Her initiative, the meet-up revolved around the theme of gender diversity and inclusivity in the blockchain industry. Bitget, with a $10 Million commitment, aims to address the gender disparity in blockchain funding markets, where female-led startups secured only 6% of total funding according to a recent study.

Sorcha Mulligan, a regional ambassador for the AWIC said of the event –  ‘Thursdays launch was taking action for diversity in its essence. Our core objectives are to connect, include, educate and empower emerging and established web3 women across the island of Ireland opening channels for our members across the world.

We are so proud of the success of the hashtag #UNMANELYOURPANEL 30% Pledge for male allies committing against speaking on all male panels. We are also calling forward female speakers to register to our Speakers Directory to make yourselves visible & available to plug the speaker gender gap!

A huge thank you to Bitget for sponsoring our launch & we can’t wait to get involved with Blockchain4Her!’

Key initiatives of Blockchain4Her include Female Entrepreneur Incubation Programs, Pitch Competitions, Women in Blockchain Summit Awards, and an Ambassador program. These initiatives are set to empower and uplift women in the blockchain space, fostering a more inclusive environment.
